Surya Kavach, “sun shield” in Sanskrit, is a day cream that moisturises and carries mineral sun filters in one step. Ashwagandha, aloe vera, manjistha, gotu kola and licorice extracts sit in a light cream base with almond oil, olive-derived squalane and shea butter. How to use
- Use every morning as the last step of your routine, after cleanser and serum.
- Apply generously to face and neck, about two finger-lengths of cream, 15 minutes before going out.
- Reapply every 2 hours outdoors, and after sweating or wiping your face.

Who it suits, and who should avoid it
A light oil-in-water cream that generally suits normal, combination and dry skin.
Avoid if you are allergic to almonds. Do not use on broken or sunburnt skin. For babies and young children, ask a doctor first.
Texture and scent
A whipped, silky cream. No fragrance is added.
Cautions
- For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
- Patch test on the inner arm and wait 24 hours before first use.
- No sunscreen blocks all UV. Reapply, and use shade and clothing in strong sun.
- Stop use if irritation occurs.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Is this a mineral or chemical sunscreen?
Mineral. The UV filters are a zinc preparation (Yashad Bhasma) and titanium dioxide.
Do I still need a separate moisturiser?
Most skin types will not. Very dry skin can layer Radiance Serum underneath.
How much should I apply?
About two finger-lengths for face and neck. Less than that lowers the protection you get.
Can I wear it under makeup?
Yes. Let it settle for a few minutes first.
