Radiance Serum

Radiance Serum is a face oil in the Kumkumadi tradition. Sesame and sunflower oils form the base, with 10% Kumkumadi Tailam, saffron oil and wild turmeric oil blended in. It is made for skin that feels dry or looks dull, and for anyone who enjoys a facial-oil massage as part of their routine. The texture is a fluid golden oil: a few drops spread easily and leave a soft, dewy finish rather than a matte one. Every ingredient is an oil, so there is no water and no added preservative.

How to use

1. Cleanse your face and pat it dry.
2. Warm 3 to 4 drops between your fingertips.
3. Massage gently over face and neck until absorbed, avoiding the eye area.
4. Use twice a day, morning and night. In the morning, follow with sunscreen.

Key ingredients

• Kumkumadi Tailam (10%). A classical Ayurvedic oil preparation, traditionally used for the complexion.
• Saffron oil (5%). From the stigma of Crocus sativus, long associated with glow in Ayurvedic skincare.
• Wild turmeric oil (4%). From Curcuma aromatica, the kasturi haldi of traditional ubtans.
• Sesame oil (40%). The base of the serum and the classic Ayurvedic massage oil.
• Geranium oil (2%). A leaf oil that adds a fresh, floral note.

Who it suits, and who should avoid it

Suits normal, dry, combination and mature skin. Oily or acne-prone skin should patch test and start with 2 drops at night, because the blend is rich and includes coconut and wheatgerm oils.

Avoid if you are allergic to sesame, almond, wheat or coconut, or sensitive to essential oils (lemon, rosemary, geranium). If you are pregnant or under a dermatologist’s care, check with your doctor first.

Texture and scent

A lightweight golden oil with a dewy finish. The scent comes from its own oils (citrus, geranium, saffron); no fragrance is added.

Cautions

• For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
• Patch test on the inner arm and wait 24 hours before first use.
• Contains citrus peel oil. Use sunscreen during the day.
• Stop use if irritation occurs.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Is this a water-based or oil-based serum?
Oil-based. Every listed ingredient is an oil or an oil preparation.

Can I use it in the morning?
Yes. The pack directs twice-daily use. In the morning, apply sunscreen over it.

Will it suit oily skin?
It is a rich oil blend. Patch test, then try 2 drops at night before using it daily.

Does it contain nut or seed oils?
Yes: almond, sesame, wheatgerm and coconut oils.

How long does a bottle last?
About 11 to 14 weeks at 3 to 4 drops twice a day. That assumes 0.05 ml a drop, so 0.3 to 0.4 ml a day from 30 ml.
