Nature Sage Hair Growth Serum is a concentrated scalp oil, not a silicone finishing serum. Twenty-two plant oils and extracts are blended on a sesame base: kalonji, jojoba and castor oils at 10% each, with amla, brahmi, hibiscus, manjistha and pumpkin seed oils, plus curry leaf, methi, onion, rosemary and peppermint. It is for anyone who oils their scalp regularly and wants a traditional Ayurvedic blend in one bottle. Massage it into the scalp and roots before a wash; the oils condition the scalp and coat the hair, so it feels softer and looks glossier after shampooing.
How to use
- Part dry hair in sections and apply the oil along the scalp and hair roots.
- Massage gently with your fingertips for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Leave on for at least an hour, or overnight, then wash with a mild shampoo.
- Use 2 to 3 times a week, in the evening.
Key ingredients
- Kalonji oil (10%). Black seed oil, a staple of traditional Indian hair oiling.
- Amla oil (5%). Indian gooseberry, one of the best-known Ayurvedic hair ingredients.
- Brahmi oil (5%). Bacopa monnieri, traditionally used in scalp oils.
- Hibiscus (oil 5%, extract 2.5%). The flower used in classic home hair oils.
- Rosemary oil (1.4%) and peppermint oil (1.5%). Essential oils that give a fresh, cooling feel on the scalp.

Who it suits, and who should avoid it
Suits all hair types as a pre-wash scalp oil, especially dry scalp and dry or frizzy hair. Very oily scalps can use less and wash out after an hour.
Avoid if you are allergic to sesame or almonds, or sensitive to essential oils (peppermint, rosemary, lavender). Do not use on a broken, inflamed or infected scalp. If you are pregnant or under treatment for a scalp condition, check with your doctor first.
Cautions
- For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; rinse with water if it happens.
- Patch test behind the ear or on the inner arm and wait 24 hours before first use.
- A mild cooling tingle from peppermint is normal. Wash off if it burns or itches.
- Protect pillowcases and light fabrics when leaving it on overnight.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

It is an oil. Every ingredient is a plant oil or extract, with vitamin E (tocopherol).

Will it make my hair grow?
It is made with ingredients traditionally used in Ayurveda for hair. We do not have a clinical study on this product, so we do not promise growth.
